Our Review Of Home School In The Woods Project Passport

Home School in the Woods

In our house history is one of our all time favorite things to learn about! I was thrilled when given the chance to review yet another product from Home School In The Woods.  We were given a digital download of Project Passport World History Studies The Renaissance & Reformation.

Home School In The Woods is one of the best companies I have ever seen for hands-on history projects. They carry many products including time lines and figures, sets of maps, activity packs and many more. I have personally been using these products since my oldest was in middle school and she is now twenty one. It is a company I go back to again and again!

The Project Passport Renaissance & Reformation is set up like a time travel trip through the period and it is extremely fun. My kids really enjoy the audios that are included. While the suggested grades are 3-8 my son who is 17 still enjoys many of the projects. His favorite was of course making a chess board. He collects chess boards so we have quite a few but this one involves history so that made it all the more appealing to him!

He even tried to get Skyler to play along. Skyler is not a chess fan but she gave it a good try. Fox truly enjoyed learning about The Lewis Chessmen and the history surrounding the game that had been found on Lewis Island. He also loved bragging that vikings had played his favorite game!

Skyler who adores the fantasy world and language from way back then had to make the project about Shakespeare. She made a puppet theater of his famous Globe Theater.

She really likes her puppet stage. My kids studied Shakespeare last year so this was great fun for her.

The Renaissance & Reformation Project Passport includes so many fun projects besides these. There are recipes, audios to hear, crafts to make, a lap book and notebooking type pages. You learn so very much about this time period while going through each "stop" in history. You will also be completing a timeline using their famous timeline figures. You can stretch this study out for 8-12 weeks and add living books in as well to learn even more in depth. You will truly "live" in the period with all these projects and fun things to do. The study can be ordered through download or DVD through this company. There are text pages included to read and teacher helps as well. The whole unit is very thorough.

Project Passport World History Studies has five units available to purchase which you can buy as a bundle, to take your child on a time travel adventure, including the newly released Rome!
