Field Trip!!!!!

This was hands down an amazing field trip!! I love our museum and the things they come up with for the kids. It was truly a fun day. We visited The Gainesville History for Home School Days at their new exhibit, The Scoop On Poop! It was disgusting, gross, fact filled and just plain awesome! What kid don't wanna learn about poop LOL!

      I loved the photo ops!

Besides the exhibit itself they had the rooms set up with all different types of stations to learn about things. This is why I love the museum. It is so hands on and kid centered. All of my kids have heir favorite places to go inside. The first station the kids learned about animals that build barricades out of poop to warn off others!

The next station taught the kids how people can use poop to determine where and why animals live where they live. They also taught the kiddos how to tell if it was a veggie eating or meat eating animal!

The next station had the coolest activity ever! The girls jumped right in and the boys held back, both informing me they wish they had done it later LOL! They did the DNA of a strawberry!

It was so neat to see the DNA strand just hanging there!

After that the kids learned about coprolite's and a little girl who discovered them.

They also saw a necklace made from fossilized polish poop!

Here they learned how seeds travel and how animals poop helps them do that! Even Fox did this activity.

I truly appreciate the way these people talk to kids. They are so patient and so upbeat that kids just naturally respond to it. It puts them at ease so they can have fun and not even realize they are actually learning. Fox even learned a few new words today!

Here the children learned all about the intestines!

They also learned how flies are more than just pesky annoyances. They can spread germs and icky everywhere they go!

I have no idea what Rhyli is reading here but that face is priceless!

      I truly want a 3-D printer!

This is different animals poop magnified!

I love when my kids seek out info on a topic!

After the activities and exhibit the kids pretty much ran all over seeing their favorite places and things!

I stand by saying this was one of the funnest field trips we have ever taken! I saw so many neat things in the gift shop too I feel a learning basket idea coming on!
