Since I am always on the look out for cool things to try with my kids I jumped on reviewing FORBRAIN from Sound For Life LTD. I really wanted to use this neat head set with my sixteen year old son Fox. He has ADHD, poor memory as well as a few speech difficulties when he speaks fast. It is almost as if his brain works faster than his mouth! The product is used 20 minutes a day and he had no issue using it. My oldest son was not too thrilled as it goes by his face and he doesn't like that due to some sensory issues. Fox had no issue with it at all. The technology behind it is like a workout for your brain! It's brain stimulation!
This is designed for children ages 4 and up as well as adults to use so age is not really a factor at all. The head set volume is adjustable but it is advised to keep on the preset level. This level is helpful for those with hearing difficulties or for those overly sensitive to sound.
I was thrilled to see it came with a storage case all of its own. Many times things come with cheap type cases that fall apart after a while and then the gadget ends up destroyed. The case is made of very good quality and I found no issues with it at all. The case keeps all the stuff nice and safe! You will get the head set, the charger cord, extra mouth piece covers and of course full directions on the use of it.
The head set is flexible and easy to move to a comfortable position for the user. It is also recommended using the head set for six weeks. We will continue to use it even after the review as Fox feels that it is helpful in his every day life. My son has a HUGE fear of speaking to other people unless he knows them quite well. The reasoning for this is because when he gets nervous he talks fast and starts to stutter.
FORBRAIN can can help you gain improvement in concentration, attention, sensory integration, verbal working memory and short term memory. The user is able to better hear their own voice through the dynamic filter. It also uses bone conduction technology and auditory feedback loop. It filters out background noises that can cause distractions. My son said he could better hear the sounds he messes up on and was able to catch him self and slow down his speech.
All in all in just the short time we have used this I have noticed he slows down when he speaks. His reading aloud has gotten clearer and he is more at ease in speaking with others. We will definitely be continuing use of this product!
