The kids had so much fun at The Teen Police Academy this week! They also got their uniform shirts and look pretty pleased with themselves being all official!
This week they got to learn about the correct way to act when they pull someone over as an officer and the way to act when they themselves get pulled over! Skyler and Rhyli liked this part best! Fox was not all into it this week he wasn't feeling to well. Skyler was also freezing so a very kind officer lent out a jacket! She is still saying someday she will be like Olivia Benson!
I really love that the kids are doing a class with other kids and they are socializing! My kids get terribly shy in groups especially Skyler so it is fun seeing her come out of her shell! I could tell Fox didn't feel well but I am proud he stuck it out and still went to class knowing he had signed an agreement he would be attending each class faithfully.
The kids also got to wear glasses that impair you as if you were under the influence and Skyler looked truly impaired LOL!!!
The kids are having so much fun in this class and learning so many different things! I am truly impressed with the lengths these men in blue have went too for these kids. They are so kind and respectful to them and the kids really respond to it, at least mine do! I think every county across America should have these types of programs. I feel it also takes away the idea that officers are people to fear and that they are mean to kids. So much in the media blasts the police force this is a great way to show kids that the media they are so into is not always the best source of information.
This is most likely the absolute best class I have ever let my kiddos join!
