Peek At Our Week 3!!!

     Seems like between hurricanes and sick kids it has taken forever to get to week 3! Skyler has gotten to start using CTC math this week which she is truly enjoying and Fox finally got around to his Milestones In Science basket. He had a blast!! He took great joy in learning about lenses and how to start a fire with one using only the sun! He also enjoyed making a pinhole camera as well. 

     Skyler is still loving her outside nature time as well. 

     For Skyler in history we are using the Prehistoric earth series right now. Besides Medieval times Skyler doesn't really have a favorite time period so I figured we could just start at the beginning so to speak. She is loving this series of movies as well. 

     
     She was a bit apprehensive about CTC math on the computer. Math is not any of my kids strong points and it really drives her to tears. It was nice that she is liking it so far. I have really struggled with her and math since ditching the beloved Math U See program. It had just stopped working after using it for years. That is a great thing about home school though if it don't work change it! If the way we teach does not help our kids learn we need to teach the way that they learn best!

     Another little change up in our school was lunch boxes! An awesome friend had all these cool boxes she gave me and I just decided to spend every Sunday night putting their lunch together so now my life is way easier through the week! Skyler thinks it is cool to have it all ready and it be a surprise every day too. My kids find the smallest things enjoyable!

     Skyler also started using her All About Animals basket this week and had a blast of course!

     For cooking class this week they made peanut butter chocolate cheese cakes! Mini sized!!! 

     They were pretty good too! I think next time we will leave off the peanut butter though, it was a bit much but still yummy!

     Fox is still chipping away at finding rocks and minerals in the USA kit! This week he found three and was super excited about it!

     Well, that was our wonderful, crazy and very full week!!
