Lowe's Build And Grow Game Box

There is the three kidos building their game boxes. The boxes themselves are adorable. Besides the fun of actually building them on their own, they came with little game cards and all. The little dice is actually wooden and the little cardboard sleeve you see is filled with chalk. The top of the box is a chalk board!!! How cute is that? Lowes build and grow gets cuter and cuter I think. They also have tons of sets now that you can buy which of course I want all of them!!!

Our first day with workboxes

I still love posting on my new blog! I once again thank Kyla for all her hard work and if anyone gets a chance please go check out her new design blog. (Why yes, that is a shameless plug for a great and talented friend) :)

Today, our first day using our workboxes. Take a breath a deep one, I said silently ALLLLLL day long I believe. I started simple. This is our first week back so we are just doing math and language arts so we don't get overwhelmed. I am trying to kill the Mom, what do I do now? question. They have an assignment folder with cards that I write the assignments on and then they have file boxes where their work is. They seemed to do OK with this sorta... They are not liking doing it on their own and well, what do I expect I have always hand held them and it has become a real problem. I just can't sit there anymore. I guess the issues I had were normal though coming back from break. No one was in the mood to get to work. No one wanted to try anything new. I will have to keep at it, have patience and be consistent. Skyler did not start using her boxes today as she is acting like she is getting sick. She managed through her math and language arts but I pretty much sat  there with her. It was an OK day it will get better and after all this I know the outcome will be good.

One major goal for the day was to keep the glasses on their faces!!! I succeeded in that one. As soon as school was over though they were wasting no time taking them off.

Skylers Long Awaited Plant Lapbook

Took me forever to remember to post these lol.  The cover was made from some stampers I had bought years ago at Lakeshore Learning. Everything inside of it was taken from homeschoolshare's various units and lapbooks. I tried for her to have a lapbook piece from each thing we read in the Our Fathers Science chapter on plants. All in all it was fun. Next stop in two weeks The Human Body!!

My Blog Has Had A Facelift!!!!!!

Thanks to Kyla at homeschoolingbytheyard! I love it. She just started to do all this digital stuff that I know nothing about but she is really great! Some of the elements were used from a kit from here  but the most was made from Kyla and her awesome creativity. I even have a button now, YAY!!!! So if you are looking for someone to touch up your blog or make you a button you have to get in touch with her. She will make sure it is exactly what you want and listen to every silly question you may have LOL. I love my new blog and Kyla is one of the sweetest, nicest people I have ever had the honor of meeting in real life. So if you need some blog touchups you know where to go!!!

Merry Christmas to all !!!!!!

Santa has come oh boy!!!! The kids are all asleep at this time and the presents are set. The cookie has been bitten and Santa has left! I can have a little bit of quiet before they jump up at the crack of dawn lol. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!!!!!!!!!!!

Countdown Day 24

Hot chocolate at grammas and granpas! We read The Night Before Christmas and gave the grandparents their presents. The kids got their Christmas pajamas just like every year past. My mom has bought them new pajamas every Christmas from the time Devlin was born so on Christmas morning they open their gifts wearing new ones. Our Little Elf left yesterday with a promise to come again next year. He left the kids a card and candycanes and his spelling has gotten better!  So the counting down is over tomorrow is Christmas and I am kinda sad to see it go but of course I am already making plans for next year! I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
