Jurassic Quest

On Fathers Day the girl had a fun day at Jurassic Quest in Orlando. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! We have all always loved dinosaurs. Even my college girl had a blast seeing the larger than life dinos! The park travels so I suggest you check out when they will be near by to go.

Both girl loved the animatronics the best. They loved seeing them move. The biggest complaint was the heat. The heat has been terrible this year. They were little troopers though getting to see the dinosaurs, fossils,  learn about stuff, and even do some crafts! Yes even my college girl does crafts!!! She lets her guard down when it is family outings like this. She don't have to be the tough older kid she can just be  kid!!

All in all it was an awesome girl versus dinosaur day!!!!!

Thinking Tree Review!!!!

In the Spring when I was buying the stuff for next year I got Skyler a fun-schooling spelling journal. It is of course by The Thinking Tree!! It is adorably cute as well! They hunt down different numbered words and there is of course coloring and doodling involved. That is right up Skylers alley so I was sold on it! A while after buying a new spelling book came out, Spelling Time. Well I was torn because I loved them both lol. Spelling Time is just amazing. It has geography music instruments and loads of animals! Again right up Skylers alley. We went ahead and started using the fun-schooling spelling journal and tucked away spelling time for the new school year.

She is having a blast!!

Sometimes she walks around the house for her spelling word hunt other times she uses a spelling type dictionary we got. The book starts out having the child read simple little stories, coloring pictures and letters then fill in the blanks type pages. The artwork is just as cute as can be!! After some of that they get to coloring pages and hunting don words with so many letters. They also get to draw their own pictures. As you see Skyler went a bit further!!

I got to hear all about this carrot! He is so strong and happy! He also loves riding unicorns apparently! She ate carrots twice this week! The Thinking tree books have for sure opened up a creative side for my kids and I am so glad I started using them!!

Peek At Our Week!!!

The weather is getting so very hot lately!! We have been sleeping late and not wanting to do anything. Skyler and Fox both started new lessons in their math u see books! YAY!!! Skyler was not too thrilled with finding areas of parallelograms. Once she remembered the two steps though it went much easier. Of course the cat helped. I mean really don't every little girl need a cat to do math with? Stella Luna hasn't grown as much as I thought she would. She was a tiny kitten when we found her. We were at Big Lots and there she was by the door crying her eyes out. She ran right to Skyler and best friends were born. The cashier inside said she had been coming in early that day when a van pulled up and she saw a mans boot kick the poor thing out the side door. Sometimes I hate going to town we always see this.

Damian is still chugging right along in his journal and math book. He is my kid who hates pics so I gotta sneak those in when I can!!

Damian always gets confused with area and perimeter so he drew some in his journal on the math page to do himself!

Skyler is still set on using the journal for two alongside her funschool spelling book.

Fox is learning to change mixed fractions into improper fractions and improper into mixed. He said this was one of the easiest things he had done for fractions so far! He is not liking fractions at all.

As usual he does his school anywhere at all! For pottery this week Skyler got to pick up the bowl she had finished and start making a candle holder. As usual I love how her projects have turned out!!

She also decided that all the dollhouse furniture she already owns is not enough and she needed to make more. This week the house has become a craft space everywhere. Cardboard, sequins, colored tape and felt have taken residence all over the place. And beads a lot of beads too!!

Happy Week Everyone!!!!!!!
